Rainy day in Kew Gardens

Finished off some new songs lately… one called ‘Kamaloca’ which I’ve played out a few times, and another called ‘Over my life’ which came to me in a dream originally, or at least the whole chorus did, I woke and sung the words and music into the dictaphone at the side of my bed. I’m hoping this can become a trend
I finished it yesterday on a walk in Kew Gardens, it began to rain really hard so I hid under this big tree by the lake. The rain wouldn’t let up so I just stayed there. I must have been there an hour, the rain kept coming but I didn’t get wet at all. I went into a trance and kept going over the song, over and over in my head, till words started going with the music. I’d been a bit depressed but the rain and the music soothed me, I got closer, then I got frustrated, then I thought leave it, then I started again, but bits kept coming… when the rain stopped I had the song and I sung it in my head. I walked over to the pavillion and wrote it out
Might play it tomorrow night at The Gunnersbury

Gutted and very sad about Amy Winehouse. Lovely girl with a lovely heart, very kind, very generous, she knew what it was all about. I mourn her and all love to her… see you next time round sweetheart
